The lay-out plan of the Industries Section 186
designed by Mr. Hugh Braga and adopted by the Committee.
It made provision for 38 stalls of a uniform sise, with
one exception. The regulation stands on which the
exhibits were staged were lent by the military authorities.
The exception mentioned was the Hongkong Rope
Manufacturing Company, which at an early stage applied for
a space of 16' x 12' to permit of an effective display of
the Company's products. This Company started operations
in Hongkong in 1884, Its activities are would wide and
today its products are found wherever Manila Hemp Rope of
the highest standard is called for. The British Admiralty
and the leading steamship lines in the Orient are amongst
the users.
The Green Island Cement Company's exhibit was
situated at the right-hanɑ end of the lounge. Their main
exhibit consisted of a large model of their works, complete
in every detail, and a real idea was given of this
